Description

The module guides students to acquire a level of proficiency where they can understand the main points of standard language regularly encountered in a professional and social context. Through a programme of written and oral classes students will gain the skills to achieve Level B1 on the Common European Framework. Students will be able to write straightforward, connected text on subjects which are familiar or of personal interest and understand everyday language frequently used in social and professional contexts. They will be able to understand spoken language used in these contexts and have some understanding of language used in the media. They will be able to produce simple connected phrases expressing opinions and views.
